Come and see!…The best evangelism

The best way I know to help bring others into a saving relationship with Yeshua, is to draw them into a place where they can experience His presence for themselves.  No amount of talking about Him has the same effect. They can argue up a storm of opposition or simply express indifference. But when His manifest Presence surrounds and fills them, there is no longer any argument, no discussion necessary.

In Exodus 20:22, God instructs Moses to tell the people, “Now that you have experienced [My Presence] for yourselves…” don’t let any idol take My place.

The non-profit, fundraising arm of The Chosen is a group called, “Come and See.” Philip told Nathaniel, in answer to his skeptical question about Jesus [John 1:31], “Come and see!”   Philip, who had been referred to him by John the Baptist, asked Jesus where he was staying. Jesus responded, “Come and see.” Somehow I think He wasn’t simply talking about where He was laying His head.

But how do we draw others to Come and See?

1) I suggest we first pray for the Lord to set up ‘divine appointments’ for us and also for daily guidance and discernment for anointed words and timing.

2) I suggest that we represent Him well. Are people drawn to us because of His Holy Spirit inside us? Does our character reflect His integrity, lovingkindness, mercy, and strength? Do others feel His unconditional love flowing out of us? Or do they hear gossiping, complaining, condemnation, blaming, and self-pity? Do we stand firm, speak the truth in love, and refuse to participate in modern idolatry? Or do we fold when attacked or persecuted for righteousness sake? Are we, who are to be His ambassadors and ministers of reconciliation, people they would want to emulate? Or are we just like the rest of the world they have experienced?

If it is the former, their curiosity may well draw them to His altar to Come and See.
